Fanfiction Policy

The short of it:

Fanfiction works of any type using elements of my works are currently prohibited.

The long of it:

Although some say that the greatest form of flattery is imitation, I have chosen to prohibit fanfiction deriratives of my works for the following reasons:

Fanfiction works often lead to confusions between "canon" storylines and non-canon storylines. Since some of my works are still in their infancy, allowing fanfictions would inevitably lead to conflicts between the original 'canon' and deriratives.
To be frank, I don't want to be tripping over anyone else's interpretation of elements within my universe.

This is my stance on fanfiction, and believe me; I do occasionally check around to make sure it is being respected...

I do not wish to discourage budding writers, however. Avanas and Starjumper crew are copyrighted instances of an idea, for example; however, the idea of an alien on a starship is an idea that may be instanced by anyone. The long and short of it is: write your own story. Not a story based on my works.
